Welcome to the Transportation Department
The Transportation Department at Carlinville CUSD#1 provides safe, reliable and efficient transportation services to our entire district which currently has an enrollment of approximately 1350 students and covers 257 square miles. We have 23 vans and buses providing transportation to over 731 students daily with 16 staff members and 12 sub bus drivers. Our department collaborates with all schools to communicate transportation information to students and parents. In addition to regular daily routes, we provide transportation for over 500 activity trips every year. Vehicles used by the District meet all federal and state safety standards. Drivers also meet all required federal and state standards for licensing.

Transportation/Building and Grounds Director
Patrick Drew is a proud 1990 Carlinville High School graduate. Patrick earned his B.S. degree from Illinois State University in May of 1994 and returned to teach at his alma mater, Carlinville, in the fall of 1995. While serving as a teacher and FFA advisor, Mr. Drew continued his studies earning a M.A. from The University of Illinois Springfield in 2002 and his Ed.S. from Eastern Illinois University in 2005. He has served in various roles during his tenure in the district including teacher, dean, athletic director, assistant principal, middle school principal and finally high school principal, a role he has held since 2005. He is also currently serving as the interim transportation director. His dedication to ensuring the well-being of students extends beyond the classroom, reflecting his holistic approach to education.
