Welcome to Carlinville Intermediate School Activities
At Carlinville CUSD#1, we believe that extracurricular activities are an essential part of the elementary school experience. Our elementary schools offer a variety of activities and programs designed to enrich students' education, foster creativity, promote socialization, and instill a love of learning. Here are some of the exciting activities available to our elementary school students:
Clubs and Enrichment Programs:

STEM Club:
Students engage in hands-on activities and experiments to explore science, technology, engineering, and math concepts in a fun and interactive way. -
Art Club:
Budding artists have the opportunity to unleash their creativity through various art projects, including drawing, painting, and sculpture. - Tutoring: Students who need extra help in math and reading may qualify for our High-Impact Tutoring program. Our goal for High-Impact Tutoring is to support each child in developing content-related skills while building the confidence needed to succeed.
- FORCE: Fifth Graders may join FORCE which stands for Friends Offering Respect, Compassion and Empathy. FORCE students serve as morning greeters and read the announcements. FORCE honors teachers by providing snacks and affirmations during teacher appreciation week. FORCE also helps with litter pick-up and chalking the sidewalks for special event.
- Cavie Connections: Third and fourth grade students may take part in a mentoring program with high school students. The pairs meet weekly for lunch and special activities.
Sports and Physical Activities:
- Fitness Challenges: Students participate in fitness challenges and activities to promote health and wellness.

Field Day: An annual event where students participate in various outdoor games and activities, promoting teamwork and physical fitness.
Academic Competitions: - Spelling Bee: Students showcase their spelling abilities in a friendly competition, promoting language skills and vocabulary development.
- Olympiad: Students compete in academic challenges and problem-solving activities, fostering critical thinking and reasoning.
Community Service Projects:
- Food Drives: Students collect and donate food items to local food banks, learning about the importance of helping others in need.
- Environmental Clean-Up: Students participate in campus clean-up activities or environmental projects to promote sustainability and community stewardship.

Volunteer Opportunities: Parents are invited to volunteer in classrooms, assist with activities, or chaperone field trips, enriching the school experience for all students.
