Notice of Public Hearing Concerning the Intent of
the Board of Education of
Community Unit School District Number 1,  Macoupin County, Illinois,
To Sell $4,000,000 School Fire Prevention and Safety Bonds AND $1,000,000 Insurance Reserve Fund Bonds

        PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Community Unit School District Number 1, Macoupin County, Illinois (the “District”), will hold a public hearing on the 13th day of January, 2025, at 7:00 o’clock P.M. The hearing will be held at Carlinville High School, 829 West Main Street, Carlinville, Illinois. The purpose of the hearing will be to receive public comments on the proposal to sell bonds in the amount of $4,000,000 for the purpose of conforming its existing facilities that house students to the building code promulgated by the State Board of Education of the State of Illinois, by altering, reconstructing and repairing said facilities and having equipment purchased and installed therein, and bonds of the District in the amount of $1,000,000 for the purpose of creating a reserve for the payment of any cost, liability or loss against which the District may protect itself or self?insure pursuant to the Local Governmental and Governmental Employees Tort Immunity Act of the State of Illinois, as amended (the “Act”), or for the payment of which the District may levy a tax pursuant to the Act, including any or all tort judgments or settlements entered against or entered into by the District.
