Lexi Haley
7th & 8th Grade
Lexi is a lifelong, hometown proud community member and Carlinville High School graduate who has been teaching at Carlinville Middle School since 2015. Lexi knew in high school that school was a sanctuary of sorts for her. More specifically, the mathematics classroom often made her heart skip a beat and her smile beam from ear to ear with joy. It was because of this love of learning and numbers that she was inspired to go on to earn her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with concentrations in Mathematics, Science, and Social Science from Blackburn College in 2014. She chose to work with young adolescent students as her experiences from tutoring middle school students throughout college made her realize she loved this age group.
Lexi graduated from UIS in 2018 with a Master's Degree in Teacher Leadership and a Pk-12 Technology Specialist certification. In 2022, she furthered her expertise by earning a K-12 Mathematics Specialist certification. To this day, she loves to use her knowledge of math and technology to create a one-of-a-kind learning experience for her students. Lexi believes all students should feel welcomed, appreciated, encouraged, and loved during their time in her classroom, and every student should feel empowered, capable, and knowledgeable by the time they leave a mathematics classroom. As she always tells her students, “Confidence is key!” Lexi truly enjoys what she does and hopes every student builds confidence while feeling successful during the time spent in her classroom.
When not at school, you can find Lexi spending most of her time being a wife, mother, and homemaker who is usually on a daily outdoor adventure with her family and an iced coffee. In her spare time, she loves to read, kayak, hike, walk, bike, and participate in barre & strength exercise classes.
