Carlinville CUSD#1 is seeking applicants for the position of a School Nurse. Candidates may hold a valid School Service Personnel Professional Educator License (Pk-age 21) with the School Nursing Endorsement issued by the Illinois State Board of Education. A school nurse with a PEL is preferred, but the District will consider candidates with an Illinois RN license with a BS in Nursing and Non-PEL (Professional Educator License). Non-PEL candidates will need an IEP designation or be willing to complete the designation in the time designated by ISBE pursuant to Components of 23 Illinois Administrative Code 226.160.

A School Nurse provides direct nursing services to students and staff members to maximize health and wellness in the school community. A School Nurse implements and supervises a school health program comprised of health serivces, health education and promoting environmental health.

Carlinvile CUSD#1 is seeking a compassionate individual possessing exceptional skills related to direct professional nursing services, strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational proficiency, and leadership ability. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and the desire to learn, a strong work ethic, and willingness to collaborate with school staff, parents , community members, medical providers and public agencies. The School Nurse is expected to know and follow mandates pertaining to school health, wellness, nutrition, and medical compliance. A thorough understanding of child developmental milestones is desirable. Technology skills will support the successful candidate in completing job responsibilities. A successful candidate must assume a high level of responsibility for the delivery of nursing services and maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
