Absences
When your child is absent, please call the school by 9:00 A.M. to report the absence and reason. If you do not call us, we will contact you via email and phone through Skylert. We may also reach out to the emergency numbers provided on occasions when we are unable to reach you. It is extremely important that all children are accounted for every day. Also let us know if your child will be signed out early for any reason. We will try to have him/her ready in the main office when you arrive.
When your child sees a doctor or has other types of appointments, bring us an excuse from the office they are seen in. These are called “medical excused”. Once a student reaches 10 days of excused absences, students will be asked to present a medical excuse. Good attendance is very important to school success.
Breakfast & Lunch
The cost of Breakfast is $2.05 and Lunch is $3.15. Please check your child's accounts. Breakfast and Lunch accounts can be paid online through RevTrak. Middle school students paying with a check can place the clearly marked envelope with the child's first and last name, including the check, in the Red Locked Box outside student services.
Students who qualify for free or reduced rates will continue to receive meals at a reduced cost or free. All questions regarding the federal lunch program should be directed to Theresa Gwillim at the District Office at 217-854-9823.
Health Information
The health office is available to students who are in need of medical support. The health office’s objective is to provide support that permits healthy students to remain at school and in class. If you anticipate your student needing over-the-counter medication(s) (i.e. Tylenol, ibuprofen, allergy medication, etc.) you must have your child’s doctor’s office complete a medication form. This form may be found on the school website in the resources section under medical forms. The health office will not be able to administer medication without this form on file.
All students entering the 6th and 9th grades must have an up-to-date physical on file. Updated immunization records are required at the 6th and 12th grade levels. Vision screenings are required for 8th graders. If you are in need of any medical forms, please visit the resources section mentioned above.
Student Fees
Payment of fees online is encouraged. You are not charged a fee to use the online payment service. You may use a credit card, debit card, or bank account. If you need to pay in person, you can bring payment to the CHS/CMS Office or the District Office. The fees for this school year are $120 for registration, and an additional device fee of $65 has been waived. Additional fees may be incurred for Exploratory Classes in Middle School, as well as courses such as Drivers Education and Dual Credit at the High School.
